Skills Needed: Knitting, purling, crossed stitches (mini-tutorial on page 4), Cable Cast-On, Mattress Stitch, decreasing, picking up stitches.

Size: Women’s S/M (L). Pattern is worked with negative ease for a snug fit.

If your hand measures (around the widest part): 7-7.5 (8-8.5) in. [17.8-19.1 (20.3-21.6) cm], then

You should make pattern size:  S/M (L)

Finished Width: 6 ¾ (7 ¾) in. [17.1 (19.7) cm]

Finished Length: 6 (7) in. [15.2 (17.8) cm]

Yarn:      175 yards [160m] DK or light worsted yarn.

Buttons:   2 shank buttons, 3/8 – 5/8 in [1 – 1.6 cm]

Needles:   Size US 3 [3.25 mm] straight or circular needles

Size US 2 ½ [3 mm] straight or circular needles

Gauge:     24 st and 37 rows = 4 in. in Stockinette Stitch on larger needles. Row gauge not as important as stitch gauge.

Notions:   Stitch markers, tapestry needle, tape measure or ruler, coordinating thread and sewing needle.
