This week, the photo challenge is to share a photo that relaxes you. A couple of years ago, we went to Maui to celebrate our 30th anniversary. We loved the warm people and the laid back way of life. I knew that it would be hard to maintain that relaxed attitude once I had returned to the pressured pace of work and home, so I took this picture specifically to remind me to hang loose and relax when I was no longer in that beautiful, warm, sunny, tropical and mellow place.

Excellent idea! I did something similar in my high pressure job. I brought home a beautiful sand dollar from our beach weekend and hung it on my office wall. Made me feel immeasurably better!!
Thank you, Tina! A sand dollar would serve the same purpose…a tangible reminder. And sometimes a photo does the same thing!
and now you have reminded us all to ” hang loose and relax ” and so thanks for the visual – and nice picture with the concrete below – it almost adds more – like say relaxed no matter how cold or tough things get – oh I dunno
Thanks for your comment. I like your thoughts about the concrete…maybe as a metaphor for our circumstances at times: unwieldy, unforgiving or difficult…while the shaka sign might be a symbol for a conscious choice to stay relaxed or calm during those times. Hmm…I’ve enjoyed thinking more about this – thank you!
