Greetings, everyone! Here we are a week from Christmas; I hope you are finding time to be with those you love and to do some things that bring you joy.
Here’s a little gift for you: a pattern for my Gnome Spa Cloth (…or dishcloth, washcloth…whatever). This sweet little gnome will help you with all your cleaning projects. Just a hat, a beard, and a button nose – with a wee bit of mischief and a lot of heart. I just love this cute little gnome!
Skills Needed: Knitting, purling.
Size: About 10 in. [25 cm] square.
Yarn: 1 ball Appalachian Baby Design U.S. Organic Cotton (Sport; 100% Cotton; 194 yds/85 g). If substituting yarn, try using the largest needle size recommended on the ball band. You may have to experiment a bit to find the fabric you like best.
Needles: US Size 6 [4 mm]: 24 in. [60 cm] circular needle or straight needles.
Gauge: 20.4 sts and 32.4 rows = 4″ [10 cm].
Other Materials: Stitch markers (optional), tapestry needle.
This pattern is free for now, and you can download it here: Gnome. The pattern includes written instructions and a chart, so that you can work it in the way makes the most sense to you. I’ve also included some helpful tips on chart-reading.
In other news, the sweater I have been designing using this beautiful Yama Fibre Arts yarn is now being tech edited, and we are writing it for sizes XS through 5X! I am super excited to be able to offer my sweater designs in more sizes. I will post more as the publishing date gets closer. For now, enjoy this beautiful yarn.
I wish you the most wonderful of holidays. Thank you for sharing in my design adventure – it means so much to me that you are along for the ride!!
