The visual balance, symmetry and rhythm at this spot created a perfect moment on one morning’s walk.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Spare

Spare:

(adjective) Additional to what is required for ordinary use.
(adjective) Elegantly simple.
(verb) To refrain from harming.

For this week’s photo challenge, I’m going with the second definition, elegantly simple. This is an outside sculpture at The Old Mill Center in Bend, Oregon. The scope, the shape, and the scale make this a stunning work.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Abstract III

soaking_the_wool_medium2

After finishing a sweater last night, I gave it a good long soak to relax the fibers.  So thrilled to have it done! And it fit so well with the theme of the weekly challenge that I had to share it: Abstract 3.

Abstraction II

I love how the play of color, reflection, light and shadow create an abstract image. Taken at the Salmon River in Oregon.

Wordless Wednesday: Hood River

A brief Wordless Wednesday this week, thinking of one of my favorite places – full of outdoorsy adventure, awesome weather (dreaming of the summer heat at the moment), gracious residents, and a terrific yarn shop – Hood River.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Dinnertime

I love this week’s challenge!

While on a long walk at Cannon Beach, I came upon a seagull obviously enjoying a delectable dinner.

I was curious to check out the main course…

…and was dreaming of cioppino as I left him to finish his meal.
